RisingWings, a creative studio at KRAFTON, Inc. has released a major update for Defense Derby, their popular real-time PvP tower defense mobile game. The update marks the beginning of a series of updates with new units, special events and more to look forward to.
Among the new releases, Defense Derby has introduced a number of new units to the game. They have also revealed three new heroes in celebration of their 100-day milestone as well.
Moon Night: Featured in the December 1 update, this physical-type unit from the spirit faction boasts short ranged serial attacks. Equipped with the ‘Shadow Attack’ ability, Moon Night boosts her attack power with each successive strike. However, this enhancement resets after every wave. Players can acquire Moon Night through various in-game methods. These include the Shop of Blessings, Lucky Draw, Featured Summon, and Step Up Pack, all freshly updated for the new Twilight and Dawn season.
Finesse: Now available, Finesse is a physical-type unit from the spirit faction similar to Moon Night. However, she is more focused on executing chain attacks with her basic attacks for increased damage. Additionally, her signature move, Spring Breeze, boosts her attack speed temporarily.
Fiery Imp: Coming December 15, this magic-type unit from the spirit faction specializes in reducing enemies’ damage to the castle. The Derby Brawl – Fiery Imp Mirror Match event, available from December 15 to December 28, will feature this new unit. Keep an eye on the calendar!
Additionally, while there’s not much known about them yet, a new human hero called Lana is set to join the roster in January.
To mark Moon Night’s debut, the game has introduced a special event, the Derby Brawl – Moon Night Mirror Match. The event matches will have every player start with an identical deck featuring Moon Night. This event is available until December 14, followed directly by the aforementioned Fiery Imp – Mirror Match event.
Previously, Defense Derby’s November 2 update introduced a new PvE feature, Hero’s Journey, where players can engage in 1:1 battles with heroes at each stage. Victories reward players with Gold of Glory, which can be exchanged for units in the Shop of Glory. Following this and the recent update, starting December 14 players can access a skin button on each hero and unit screen, allowing them to customize appearances with owned skins. In the spirit of the winter season, a Christmas event will run from December 14 to December 31, offering various activities and rewards, including the Christmas Castle Skin.
