Hotel Fever Tycoon Review

Hotel Fever Tycoon: Fun but Repetitive

For gamers seeking a simple game that requires constant play to progress, read on. Hotel Fever Tycoon is an animated game released by Xiaojian Chen, where the player is a maid running around the hotel trying to keep the guests happy. The game has over a hundred levels for the player to go through to build their hotels from the ground up, but it is slow going.

This is a great choice for players who love having an easy game with multiple levels to work through. During the game, players welcome guests into the hotel and bring them items they ask for while also cleaning rooms after they leave for the next set of guests. The levels are elementary, but sometimes even the slightest mistake can make a player lose the level.

Easy To Play

When players first begin the game, there are a lot of tutorials that help them figure out what is going on. This happens with every hotel, item, and objective in the game. While there is not a lot of need for them because the game is easy to play without them, the tutorials are nice.

The tutorials also explain how to earn coins, which is extremely easy to do, and players earn plenty of coins while doing basic tasks in the game. But if players ever feel like they are running low, there is an ad they can watch at the end of every level to double their earnings.

Hotel Fever Tycoon Gameplay The game’s objectives are always super clear and make it possible for anyone to play. The player has to clear certain things to pass a level, such as gaining smiles or likes from guests or making sure there’s no waste at the end of a shift. It gives the player something to work towards and lets them see how well they are progressing.

One of the game’s best aspects was planning the avatar’s moves. This allows the player to plan the avatar’s moves in order, ensuring the player does not miss a single guest and all of the guests get what they ordered. However, these awesome features are sometimes overshadowed by the game’s less exciting parts.

A Few Issues

One of the issues I ran into while playing the game was how slowly the player accumulates diamonds. There are no ads to watch for diamonds, so the player can either buy the diamonds with real money or wait for rewards. The rewards mainly come from daily rewards or reaching the top of the leaderboards, and even then, the player only gets one or two diamonds at a time. Since there are so few diamonds, it is difficult for players to upgrade items or skip wait times, meaning players need a lot of patience.

There is not as much upgrading as I would have liked for a game supposed to be about building and running a hotel business. While there are some, such as making the drink machines faster or having the food preparation take less time, they are not massive upgrades like what one might expect from a game like this. The upgrades also take time to be delivered to the hotel, meaning the player must wait anywhere from 30 minutes to three hours for the upgrades to take place.

Hotel Fever Tycoon Gameplay Tips

Another of the main issues I had was the repetition in the game. It is to be expected that there’s a lot of repetition since players are tapping the same rooms and items constantly, but the game has players doing the same goals, with the only change being the number of things they need, such as earning 50 more coins than the last level. This isn’t a huge setback, but it’s something to consider for people who like more variety in their gaming experience.

Make No Mistake

As the player progresses in the game, they take control of both the receptionist and the maid simultaneously. This becomes increasingly difficult as guests need them in different places and adds to the difficulty of the game.  As more hotels unlock, the player gains more rooms to put guests in and clean, along with more items that the guests can request. The levels also get more difficult as you play on, by color coding doors and having more guests arrive at once.

Another issue with the game is that there is no wiggle room for someone to make a mistake. If there is even a slight delay and the timer on one guest goes from green to yellow, the player loses money, and often that means not meeting the objective, meaning the player does not pass the round. The developers did handle this issue a bit by ensuring they always offer ads that can help the players fix their mistakes. The ads definitely helped with some of the harder levels, and they don’t seem to run out like some games do.

Is It Hardcore?

A Bit. While Hotel Fever Tycoon is repetitive, it does get progressively more difficult and adds some interest to the game. Therefore, it's worth trying out if you are a fan of idle-playing games.
