Australian Brand Plans Expanding in 2023
Ten years ago, Dumb Ways to Die became a viral video sensation, spreading a serious message about transportation safety. Since its debut, its channel on YouTube has amassed almost half a billion views and a top ten spot on iTunes Australia.
PlaySide Studios Limited revealed information about upcoming titles, including Dumb Ways to Draw Two and Dumb Ways to Die Four set for a 2023 release.
Gerry Sakkas, CEO of PlaySide Studios, says that millions of people around the world continue to enjoy Dumb Ways to Die. PlaySide creates games with the goal of making us all safer.
PlaySide Studios has released five Dumb Ways to Die games to-date. Dumb Ways to Draw and Dumb Ways to Die Two hit number one on the App Store. Together, they have over seven billion game sessions and over 350 million downloads.
The love for these eccentric characters enters into the Web3 space, where a BEANS NFT collection releases in 2022. PlaySide is currently developing a new title within the BEANS universe to accompany the collection. Holders are able to use their individual BEANS within the game.
Ben Kelly, GM of Dumb Ways at PlaySide Studios, said the enduring power of the brand has seen it go in new directions. Dumb Ways to Sleep is a meditation app in partnership with Peaceful Kids that creates calming content.
