Surprisingly Addicting Delivery Service
Dunderbit’s DeliCat is a game not to be taken lightly, though the premise is extremely simple. Somehow a flying cat grabbing and delivering food to people proves remarkably fun. The idea seems to be delivering a minimum amount of food to hungry customers who lean from their windows. The unique part is the delivery cat carried by a drone. While players deliver the food, they are presented with obstacles that don’t tend to stop the cat, but do prevent the deliveries from happening at a reasonable time. The obstacles give DeliCat a little bump or spin him momentarily before he can get back to work. Perhaps the most appealing aspect of the game is the seemingly limitless level climb. Playing for hours on end brings players money that can be used to customize their DeliCat and get right back to making deliveries.
Why is DeliCat Impossible to Put Down?
DeliCat has interestingly addicting gameplay and I couldn’t help but play level after level even though the premise is not exactly compelling. Something about the simplicity of the gameplay combined with the silly cat character made it difficult to step away from. Basically an endless runner in the vein of Subway Surfers, the game does not seem to progress in any natural way but does allow for an upgrade system the longer you play. I cannot deny that upgrading my DeliCat several times was a satisfying experience along, of course, with the gameplay itself.
The title’s music and animation style are pleasant to experience, while the game itself is fun to play. It was certainly not what I had expected when playing as a flying food delivery cat, but it surprised me in a positive way. There is little to say about negative gameplay mechanics, but some other blocks could be used. With more obstacles, the flying might be a bit more challenging. Entertaining the game might be, but challenging it isn’t.
There are plenty of customization for players, but the time it takes to acquire those items will be pleasant. DeliCat has a charm that will players will no doubt keep players from wanting to put the game down. DeliCat serves to entertain the player while it might also make them hungry for real food along the way.
