An Interactive Adventure in Your Backyard
Have you ever wanted to go back and engage in childhood mischief again, like switching your neighbors’ packages or hurling wet apples at them for no good reason?
Well, then look no further than Dark Riddle 2: Story Mode. Players will jump into the adventure of a quiet neighborhood with something seemingly bizarre taking place in the background. Developed by Para Group, Dark Riddle 2 offers a multitude of mini-games, puzzles and a story mode option for players of all ages.
The Boy Next Door
The player’s journey begins in a strange city, where they meet new people that live all around their neighborhood. One neighbor, in particular, will meticulously try to conceal his secrets and devise nasty schemes for all the residents of the city. Some of his plans include creepy crabs and strange gadgets.
Played in first-person PvE as a teenage protagonist in this immersive adventure to protect the neighborhood. You must foil all of your neighbor’s nefarious schemes while appropriately making fun of his misfortune. Players will travel across town in a variety of vehicles, including a mine cart, a tractor and a broomstick. Each unlocked level adds new items and tools, like a gravity device that allows you to lift items and characters.
Puzzles, Crabs… and Aliens?
Dark Riddle 2 is free to play, some items and abilities are available for purchase. This can help players streamline their gameplay while providing new experiences. However, Dark Riddle 2 is easily playable without the use of actual money and remains enjoyable. There is a variety of quests, scavenger hunts and riddles to solve and players generally have plenty they can do without spending a dime.
Dark Riddle 2 is whimsical and light-hearted. With the addition of neighborhood animals and a police officer to taunt, kids and adults will have fun in story mode or during the mini-games. The animation is reminiscent of old console games, the characters are exaggerated and clunky. Like playing your favorite cartoon from the early 2000s.
There are some elements of childish humor, like exploding packages and pelting neighbors with soggy apples for points. Dark Riddle 2 isn’t trying to be anything more than a fun adventure thriller. Younger players may find aspects a little scary, especially when being chased by an angry neighbor in the dark. But for more mature players, the fast-paced music during the scarier moments adds another layer to the interactive experience.
Not Always a Block Party
Dark Riddle 2 can be a little tricky for first-time players. There are very few instructions and guidance throughout the levels. Dark Riddle 2 doesn’t require purchases to play, but the different story modes may prove relatively short for hardcore gamers. Based on the animation, Dark Riddle 2 may feel a bit immature, however, there are an infinite amount of adult games for download. For those interested, Dark Riddle 2 has several APK story modes for purchase. Due to the F2P option, there are a lot of pop-up ads, which can get tedious and overwhelming for some.
The Burbs Meets Dennis the Menace
Dark Riddle 2 stepped up in this sequel, giving fans of the original more to play. It’s easy to get lost in the little town, attempting to unlock each secret. Dark Riddle 2, in its simplicity, is as entertaining and challenging for children as well as adults. Of course, like every game, Dark Riddle 2 has minor setbacks like too many ads during the F2P option pulling players out of the experience.
