While the Oregon trail-esque aspects of gameplay are a far cry from God of War’s brutal battles, fans will enjoy exploring hand-drawn Norse-inspired environments. The game also features an engaging storyline and unique, well-rounded characters that will draw you further into the game’s world.
While you won’t be battling Gods, you will fight off humanoid creatures made of stone, the dredge, as well as rival clans. If the Viking and Norse Gods aspect of God of War Ragnarök is what you’re craving, then The Banner Saga is a perfect fit.

At first, Implosion- Never Lose Hope from Rayark International Limited doesn’t seem very similar to God of War. The game takes place in a cyberpunk dystopia. It’s been twenty years since an alien invasion led to an evacuation of earth. Now a new threat originating from earth threatens the remnants of human civilization. A far cry from Kronos battling Norse and Greek Gods, right?
While the game’s setting is vastly different, it offers players intense hack-n-slash combat similar to combat in the God of War series. Wield guns and mecha swords in fast-paced epic battles against daunting foes. With beautiful graphics, a stunning soundtrack, and brutal combat worthy of Kronos, Implosion- Never Lose Hope is a great game to pass the time while you wait for God of War Ragnarök.

2. Iron Blade: Medieval RPG
Another great game to download while you await the release of the new God of War is Iron Blade: Medieval RPG by Gameloft. Players will journey to intriguing locations such as Notre Dame and Transylvania in a monster-ridden Medieval Europe.
Iron Blade also offers epic combat, much like the combat in God of War. Deal awesome combo attacks with your blade and cast devastating spells against vampires, demon knights and other challenging foes. In addition, players can unleash cool finishing moves and special attacks.

Godfire: Rise of Prometheus by Vivid Games is probably the closest you’ll get to God of War on mobile. The intense combat is reminiscent of what you experience in God of War titles. Play as Prometheus as he battles creatures inspired by Greek myths and solves puzzles while attempting to take a spark of Godfire from the Gods.
