The leaves are falling, there’s a chill in the air and pumpkins are popping up at every doorstep. Halloween is only a few short weeks away. Here at Hardcore iOS, we’ve put together a list of games to get you in the mood for the tricks and treats of Halloween.

10. Death Road to Canada

Ever wanted to embark on a road trip through the zombie apocalypse? Then Death Road to Canada has got your back. With randomly generated locations and characters, no two playthroughs are alike. Recruit survivors to join your caravan, battle hordes of zombies and enjoy your road trip in a  game that’s sure to fill you with the Halloween spirit.

9. Werewolf Tycoon

Stalk your prey in the night, but beware the street light in Werewolf Tycoon, a simplistic yet engaging game by indie developer Joe Williamson. Players take on the role of a hungry werewolf hiding in some bushes behind a bench. Humans will walk past the bench and you must jump out and devour them. Timing your attacks is key as your prey will run if given the chance and the fewer witnesses, the better. If you’re looking for a challenging, spooky game to play on the go, Werewolf Tycoon is an excellent choice.

8. Nightbook

Nightbook is a thrilling FMV game centering around an online interpreter,  Loralyn, who is hoodwinked into reading an ancient text for summoning demons. Pregnant and caring for her elderly father, Loralyn must attempt to keep herself and her family safe. Of course, depending on the choices you make,  her evening can go very, very wrong. Essentially an interactive horror movie, Nightbook is a perfect game to play during the Halloween season.

7. Death Park 2: Scary Clown Game

An evil clown has taken your sister and it’s up to you to save her in Death Park 2: Scary Clown by Anton Nazarov . A spine-tingling FPS, Death Park 2 will have you traveling between the dream world and reality as you battle monsters and solve puzzles. The game features quality graphics, eight spooky locations to explore and a multitude of weapons to utilize. And what better to get you in the Halloween spirit than a creepy clown?

6. Endless Nightmare: Escape

From 707 Interactive, Endless Nightmare: Escape is a thrilling survival horror game. As a police officer named James, you’ll investigate the recent murderers of your wife and daughter. James soon discovers a mad woman is in his house. Run or hide from the mad woman to survive while collecting clues to the woman’s identity.

5. Vampire Survivor

Vampire Survivor is a pixelated rogue that you can really sink your teeth into. Become a bullet hell and battle wave after wave of the undead. Gather weapons such as garlic, a magic wand and a cross. Armed with powerful weapons, they dispatch hundreds of monsters. Feel free to play alone or team up with up to 3 friends via couch co-op in landscape mode. A fun, action-packed title, Vampire Survivor is a perfect game to play this Halloween.

4. Death Come True

A young man wakes up in a hotel room. However, how did he get there? The man has no idea. In fact, he has no memory at all. Soon, he spots a tied-up unconscious woman and the evening news is saying he’s a serial killer. Death Come True from Izanagigames is a stellar FMV game featuring an intense and compelling plot. Each choice you make impacts the story’s end. Additionally, players can collect a Death Medal for each death the main character experiences. Collect enough and you’ll unlock special DeathTube movies within the game.

3. Ordesa

Ordesa follows Lise, a woman returning to her family home after two years. However, a ghost haunts the house she shares with her father…you. Another haunting FMV game to get you in the mood for tricks and treats, Ordesa lets you be the ghost. Players control the game by tilting their devices. Knock over chairs and partake in other mischievous poltergeist behavior and see the characters’ fearful reactions.

2. Speed Dating for Ghosts

Who says that ghosts don’t need love? Speed Dating for Ghosts by developer CopyChaser Games is an adorable albeit spooky dating game. Players will chat with over a dozen ghosts, each with their own personality and backstory. Learn how each spirit died and what their lives were like and help them move on. But be careful what you say, as a date with a ghost can quickly turn ugly if you offend them. A quirky supernatural game that’s sure to make you laugh, Speed Dating for Ghosts is one of the best Halloween iPhone games.

1. PARANORMASIGHT

PARANORMASIGHT is an anime-style horror mystery game taking place in Tokyo, Japan, during the Shōwa era. The game follows office worker Shogo Okiie as he and his friend Yoko Fukunaga investigate a  local ghost story, The Honjo Seven Mysteries. Others are also investigating the Honjo Seven Mysteries, including a high schooler attempting to discover the truth about a classmate’s death. Solve puzzles and unravel the mystery in this epic title that’s perfect to play around Halloween.
