Airship Knights Review

Take Your Adventure to the Skies

Airship Knights is a free to play idle RPG recently released on the App Store and Google Play. In this arcane punk world where airships fly through the sky, you are the first airship captain from Cloud Island. Are you a fan of JRPG games such as Final Fantasy and idle tappers like Tap Titans? Airship Knights will have you sailing to the skies in your airship and battling monsters in colorful 2D pixel graphics.

At first you may lose yourself in this animated fantasy world but after playing for a while you will notice the game’s repetitiveness. This repetitiveness is due to the fact that once you have reached your limit in how far you have progressed, you must open a portal, which returns you back to the beginning stage where everything starts all over again.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to battle monsters upon the flying airship Highwind in Final Fantasy VII? Now you can experience these battles in the sky in Airship Knights. Double the immersion with the unique story of each knight making for more exhilarating battles.

Airship Knights Quest Mission Impossible

Very similarly to Tap Titans, once you have reached your limit to your endless journey, open the portal and return back to the beginning. With more power, you will be able to travel into farther stages. Having to constantly return back to the beginning, however, can make this game feel repetitive and grindy.

Customizable Captain and Airship Upgrading

You can customize the captain character, which makes for a more immersive experience. Airship Knights includes 40 Pixel Knights with awesome looks and abilities. Build your party of knights with various attributes and positions. Help your knights grow in multiple ways, such as promotion, awakening and equipment.

Upgrade to make your airship the strongest. Enhancing your magic engine increases your combat power. Manage six cabins including the Control Room, Engine Room and Research Room to add strength to your airship.

Time-attack Mode and World Map

Airship Knights offers a time-attack mode where you must battle fast to win. Time-attack mode has automatic battles where you must defeat a monster every 15 seconds. Stages progress quickly, so you must maintain a strong airship. Combat and growth are automatic so increasingly stronger enemies won’t be a problem for you.

It can be fun to explore the World Map for a wider world view. The Arena has PVP to unveil powerful knights. Elemental Island lets you battle with the White Tiger, Black Tortoise, Blue Dragon and the Red Bird. Soul Dungeon offers the player a challenge to upgrade to the Knights Templar. Conquer Sky Tower, which contains many monsters to uncover ancient secrets. In the Temple there is the Promotion Battle of the Captains, which has you overcome the trials of the goddess.

Final Comments

If you love the combo of RPG and idle games then you will enjoy playing Super Planet’s Airship Knights. The game can feel repetitive and grindy because in order to progress to further stages, you will need to return to the beginning. For some gamers having to repeat from the beginning stage numerous times might make this game feel like a bore. However, the patient player will find many great rewards and the stronger you make your airship, the faster you will get through stages. This game isn’t for the hardcore player but rather the casual gamer who enjoys a good idle tapper to help pass the time.
