Aether Gazer Review

  • July 13, 2023

Aether Gazer Title
Spread the love

What’s Left of Humanity

Earth was destroyed after a giant war, humanity has gone extinct, and Artificial Intelligence is the only thing left. Aether Gazer is a 3D action-RPG mobile game developed by Yostar Games, featuring a visually stunning game with a rich and immersive world. The game’s combat is fast-paced and engaging, and the variety of characters and skills to choose from allows players to create their unique playstyle.

The Future is AI

Aether Gazer Character selection

In a future where humanity has uploaded their consciousnesses to Gaea, an AI is orbiting the Earth. However, evil computer viruses called Visbanes have begun to attack Gaea, threatening to destroy humanity’s promised paradise. The player to commands a team of three modifiers, virtual programs used to protect the human consciousness. The first member we are introduced to is Verthandi, the main character of Aether Gazer. Verthandi will eventually team up with various characters obtained throughout the story and through a gacha mechanic.

The story of Aether Gazer is fine, but nothing special. However, it follows the same tropes and story beats as many other mobile RPGs, with very polished animations and gameplay. What does stand out are the characters. They are lively and memorable, and have decent development throughout the main story.

Aether Gazer Characters

Hacking Skills

Aether Gazer’s fast-paced hack-and-slash battle system focuses on combos and elemental effects. Players can chain combos of attacks and abilities together to deal massive damage to their enemies, and the dodge button allows for quick and agile movement. Each character has unique skills and abilities, so you can mix and match them to create your team composition. Although there are gacha mechanics, you can only control Verthandi during battle. The other characters obtained through the gacha system are controlled by AI and have more of a support role.

Aether Gazer Combat UI

The combat is very fluid and responsive, thanks to the game’s smooth animations and controls. There are four attacks that the player can use during a battle: one normal attack and three special moves that require cooling down after using them. The special moves can be strong actions that target a single enemy, or an attack that can strike multiple enemies at once. Chaining these attacks together will allow you to charge up for a Skillchain. Skillchains are powerful attacks that change depending on the team that is in the battle. A cinematic plays with all team members working together to deliver a powerful attack, adding even more thrill to the heat of battle.

Aether Gazer is a tried and true hack-and-slash that is fast-paced, fun, and wonderfully animated. The story leaves much to be desired, however; the gameplay is where the title excels—going through waves upon waves of enemies induces a rush that is enhanced by the optimal controls and smooth animations. The plethora of well-designed characters is memorable and can change the battle with many Skillchain attacks. This hack-and-slash is one of the best on the mobile market and is worth checking out.

Aether Gazer is a hack-and-slash set in a future where all humans have gone extinct, and only AI is left to inhabit Earth. The story is mediocre; however, with memorable characters and excellent gameplay, Aether Gazer is a great experience on mobile.
