The Free Fire World Series (FFWS) Southeast Asia 2024 Fall has reached its final week, with the top 12 teams competing for regional supremacy. After six weekends of intense knockout battles, where teams from Thailand and Indonesia dominated, the tournament now moves to its climactic Point Rush and Grand Final weekend. The event will take place from October 11 to 13 at the Surabaya Convention Center in Indonesia. This marks Indonesia’s first time hosting an international Free Fire tournament since the Free Fire Asia Invitational 2019, when the local team, Island of Gods, won in Jakarta.
Fight For The Ages
No team will face elimination during the two-day Point Rush stage. However, the bottom four teams will miss the chance to advance to the Global Finals in Brazil, set to begin on November 8. Thailand’s Team Falcons has already secured its place in the Global Finals through the Esports World Cup: Free Fire and will join eight other teams in the global competition.
The 12 teams still in the running for the Southeast Asia 2024 Fall championship include:
- 5 teams from Thailand: Buriram United Esports, All Gamers Global, Twisted Minds, Attack All Around, and Team Falcons
- 3 teams from Indonesia: RRQ Kazu, EVOS Divine, and Bigetron Delta
- 4 teams from Vietnam: Heavy, Hua Esports, WAG, and God of Wolf Esports
Thailand’s teams have been particularly strong, securing five of the top six positions during the Knockout Stage. RRQ Kazu, from Indonesia, currently ranks third and is the only non-Thai team to disrupt their dominance. RRQ Kazu, who finished fourth in last year’s global FFWS, could be Indonesia’s hope for reclaiming an international title after five years.
Vietnamese teams have shown significant improvement since the Spring season, with four teams now qualifying for the Finals. WAG, in particular, had an impressive Knockout Stage and could be a strong contender in the upcoming battles.
The tournament’s Final MVP will also be awarded a trophy and USD 4,000. Leading the MVP race is DEW in All Gamers with 7 MVPs and 207 eliminations, followed closely by Wassana in Buriram United Esports, DIAMOND in Twisted Minds, and Maal in RRQ Kazu, each with 7 MVPs as well.
