Developed by Inoutbox Games, QTEM: Quick-Time Event Master utilizes a combination of turn-based combat and quick-time events to create a skill-based gaming experience. While the studio labels the title an action RPG, it also incorporates aspects of dungeon crawlers, as the player needs to fight their way through groups of enemies to progress, all while collecting loot.
As the name implies, a major aspect of QTEM is the quick-time events. You can trigger a quick-time event in battle, which involves tracing your finger across the screen in a pattern. If you execute it properly, the Champion will unleash a powerful special attack. Tougher enemies, such as Elites or Bosses, trigger their own events in order to make the battles tougher.
Each playable Champion possesses different abilities, allowing you to customize your play style. For instance, the Warrior gains combo points that increase damage and can activate spells by using rage points. The Wizard, on the other hand, must complete quick-time events successfully to cast spells.
Inoutbox Games is dedicated to including players in their design process. They emphasize creativity, transparency, and putting the player in at the center of what they do. That’s why the studio invites players to join in the development of QTEM. The title is still in an early phase, but players are encouraged to join in the process and help shape the game into the final product. If you want to know more, check out the official game website.
